| Job Description : | REGIONAL GENERAL MANAGER - HEAD OF GREATER CHINA OPERATIONS
Grand Circle Corporation, a US based International Operator of specialized travel is seeking Regional General Manager candidates to strengthen our operation in Asia. Based in Beijing or Hong Kong, with frequent travel in the region and to the US, the Regional GM will report to the Corporate VP of Global Business Operations and be responsible to 1. Drive Achievement of Regional Excellence Goals 2. Drive Achievement of Cost of Goods 3. Adhere to Regional Office Budget 4.Drive Regional Performance Management and Organizational Effectiveness.The regional GM manages business profitably and adherence to the financial plan. He/ she will be negotiating with primary and secondary vendors, achieving the contracting goals established and adhering to our promotional calendar timeline, secure, audit and manage inventory to meet or exceed plan/forecast and support Contract process per product calendar programs - hour by hour, costing reviews, pre-trip reviews and product recommendations.He/She must have demonstrated ability to utilize and motivate tour leaders towards performance of highest standards and to achieve program goals. Ability to implement and develop/manage plans to achieve goals and manage review of tour member reports is also required.To achieve regional effectiveness, the regional GM will ensure resources (physical office, legal status, IS needs, staff, associate training) are in place and conduct weekly management reviews with direct reports to identify and address hot issues, visit satellite offices to support the performance management, and ensure management of top tour leaders and senior program directors per guidelines.He/ she will support the organization with hiring and training of new associates and with hiring, training and scheduling of program directors to ensure staff retention and high performance. We are looking for a rising star that is looking and ready to take on this great opportunity with long term prospect for career advancement and is able to work autonomously and effectively across cultures.The ideal candidate will have at least 5 -8 years management experience in the travel industry with a demonstrated long-term commitment to client service and delivery quality. He/ She must have: strong communication skills; contract negotiation capabilities to manage existing and new service providers; ability to address vendor issues to ensure quality of service with hotels, motor coach, boats and restaurants and, be able to drive product approval and product change process.Excellent command of English and Mandarin Chinese is required.
